If I see one more commercial that says 'Happy Holidays', I might scream. Seriously.
Come one people, there's no denying that all the extra advertising and wintery commercials are for Christmas. So just say "Merry Christmas!". Its not hard. So what if it isn't 'politically correct'.
It seems that people have to care about whats 'politically correct' so much nowadays. Its frustrating. Thankfully I live in a country where the idea of being 'politically correct' is as foreign as it gets. We always get people coming here and calling the black population (which makes up more than 90% of the population here) "african americans". We look at them like they're insane. One friend of mine even pointed out, her family hasn't been considered african in like 14 generations and she sure as hell isn't american, so how the hell did she become 'african american'? I love it when 'african americans' from the States come here and call me (I'm white) a racist. Aparently people haven't grasped the concept that the word 'nigga' here isn't a bad word unless you mean it to be. Hell, we call some white people 'niggas'! I got a black friend we call an oreo cause she's white on the inside. And I'm an honorary black person; dubbed this by my black friends.
So screw politically correct! If you're Jewish I hope you had a wonderful hunakah (sorry if I misspelled that, too lazy to check). If you're Christian or whatever, have a Merry, Merry Christmas! Can't remember what the Muslim holiday is, sorry. But I hope its great!
But quite frankly, saying Merry Christmas is just easier. If someone says Merry Christmas to a Jewish person, it isn't to be mean, they're just saying Merry Christmas. Don't be insulted, please, if you are, thats just sad.
And as a person coming from a country with a majority of blacks: Kwanza is made up! Christmas/Hunakah are not celebrations for people's color, but for their beliefs, k? so Kwanza is not the same! And again, if a country made up of black people has come to this conclusion, even the most politically correct person has to submit to the facts.
So have a Merry, Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Years!
(Say that to everyone!)
